Job Summary

Rainbow Lodge is seeking a dependable and hardworking Kitchen Helper to support daily kitchen operations and assist the culinary team with food preparation, cleaning, and organization. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a busy kitchen, following instructions, and helping maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety.

The Kitchen Helper will assist cooks with basic preparation tasks, organize ingredients and supplies, clean kitchen equipment, and help ensure workstations remain ready for service. This position is suitable for someone who is eager to learn, works well with others, and takes pride in maintaining an orderly kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist cooks with basic food preparation tasks as assigned.
• Wash, peel, cut, and portion ingredients according to instructions.
• Organize food supplies and keep ingredients stored properly.
• Clean kitchen workstations, utensils, cookware, and equipment.
• Wash dishes and kitchen items when needed.
• Help receive, unpack, and store deliveries in designated areas.
• Restock ingredients and supplies throughout the shift.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and handwashing procedures.
• Maintain clean floors, counters, storage areas, and preparation stations.
• Remove waste and follow the kitchen’s disposal procedures.
• Support kitchen staff during busy service periods.
• Assist with opening, closing, and routine cleaning duties.
• Follow workplace safety guidelines and restaurant procedures.

Requirements

• Previous kitchen or food-service experience is preferred but may not be required.
• Willingness to learn food preparation and kitchen procedures.
• Ability to follow instructions and work cooperatively with the team.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Basic understanding of cleanliness and safe food handling.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine physical tasks.
• Ability to lift and carry kitchen supplies safely, within reasonable job requirements.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• A positive attitude and commitment to maintaining a clean workplace.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
