Job Summary

Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar is seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Helper to support daily kitchen operations and assist the culinary team with food preparation, cleaning, and organization. The ideal candidate will be dependable, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

The Kitchen Helper will assist cooks with basic preparation tasks, maintain clean workstations, organize kitchen supplies, and help ensure that food preparation areas meet sanitation standards. This role is suitable for someone who enjoys teamwork and takes pride in keeping a kitchen clean, safe, and efficient.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist cooks with basic food preparation tasks as assigned.
• Wash, peel, cut, and portion ingredients according to instructions.
• Organize ingredients and store food items in designated areas.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen counters, preparation stations, utensils, and equipment.
• Wash dishes, cookware, and kitchen tools when needed.
• Help receive, unpack, and store food and supply deliveries.
• Replenish ingredients and kitchen supplies throughout the shift.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and handwashing procedures.
• Maintain clean floors and organized storage areas.
• Remove waste and follow appropriate disposal procedures.
• Support kitchen staff during busy service periods.
• Assist with opening, closing, and routine cleaning duties.
• Follow workplace safety guidelines and restaurant procedures.

Requirements

• Previous kitchen or food-service experience is preferred but may not be required.
• Ability to follow instructions and work cooperatively with the team.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Willingness to learn kitchen procedures and preparation techniques.
• Ability to work efficiently during busy periods.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine physical tasks.
• Ability to lift and carry supplies safely within reasonable job requirements.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
