KITCHEN HELPER

Job Summary

A Kitchen Helper assists chefs and kitchen staff in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. The role involves food preparation support, cleaning duties, stock handling, and ensuring hygiene and safety standards are followed.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in basic food preparation, such as washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, workstations, and food preparation areas.
• Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen items.
• Receive, store, and organize food supplies and inventory.
• Dispose of kitchen waste and maintain cleanliness in waste disposal areas.
• Refill ingredients and supplies as needed during kitchen operations.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times.
• Support chefs and cooks with general kitchen tasks.
• Ensure refrigerators, freezers, and storage areas are clean and organized.
• Assist with unloading deliveries and checking stock quality.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is an advantage.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights.
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety practices.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
