Job Summary

Another Broken Egg Cafe is seeking a dependable and hardworking Kitchen Helper to support daily kitchen operations. This position assists cooks with basic food preparation, organizes ingredients and supplies, maintains clean workstations, and helps the kitchen team provide timely service during busy breakfast and brunch periods.

The ideal candidate is organized, willing to learn, follows instructions carefully, and understands the importance of food safety, cleanliness, and teamwork in a restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist cooks with basic food preparation and ingredient portioning.
• Wash, peel, cut, and organize ingredients according to instructions.
• Prepare kitchen workstations and supplies before service.
• Clean and sanitize counters, utensils, equipment, and food preparation areas.
• Wash dishes, cookware, and kitchen tools when needed.
• Store ingredients properly and follow food safety procedures.
• Help receive, organize, and restock kitchen supplies.
• Monitor ingredient levels and notify supervisors when items need replenishing.
• Follow personal hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines.
• Assist kitchen team members during busy breakfast and brunch shifts.
• Keep storage areas and kitchen workspaces neat and organized.
• Help with opening, closing, and end-of-shift cleaning duties.
• Communicate with cooks and supervisors to support efficient kitchen operations.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant kitchen.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn food preparation and sanitation procedures.
• Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
• Previous kitchen helper, dishwasher, or food service experience is preferred but may not be required.
• Knowledge of safe food handling practices is an advantage.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform essential kitchen duties, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.
• Availability for early morning, weekend, or holiday shifts may be required.
