Kitchen Manager

We’re looking for a Kitchen Manager to join the team at Swansea Observatory.

Our current Kitchen Manager is moving on in February 2027, and we’re looking for someone to come in, get to know the team and the way we work, and be trained into the role alongside them.

This is a hands-on kitchen leadership role in a busy, high-volume environment. We run a casual brunch and evening kitchen, serving simple, good food done well. It’s a small working kitchen with a young team of kitchen hands who we’re committed to training and developing.

You don’t need to be a formally trained chef, but you do need solid kitchen experience, a good understanding of service, and the confidence to take responsibility and lead a team.

What we’re looking for:

• Kitchen experience in a busy, high-volume environment

• A hands-on leader who is happy to work alongside the team

• Someone who leads by example and isn’t afraid to get stuck in

• Good organisation and the ability to keep a kitchen running smoothly during busy services

• Someone who enjoys training, supporting and developing younger team members

• Open-minded, positive and able to work as part of a diverse team

• Comfortable taking responsibility for kitchen standards, prep and service

• A willingness to work closely with the GM on menu ideas and ongoing development

This is a great opportunity for someone who has good kitchen experience and is ready to take the next step into kitchen management — without needing to come from a traditional chef background.
