Kitchen Manager Biscuits & Buns | New Orleans, LA Pay: $20–$24 per hour, based on experience Job Type: Full-Time Schedule: Weekends required; some evening availability Job Description Biscuits & Buns is seeking an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Kitchen Manager to oversee kitchen operations across our two New Orleans locations. We are an established, growing restaurant brand with existing menus, standardized recipes, equipment, and operational systems already in place. We are not seeking an Executive Chef to reinvent our menu. We are looking for a strong operational leader who takes ownership, holds employees accountable, and ensures both kitchens operate efficiently and consistently. The ideal candidate is a motivated, organized professional who can lead a team, solve problems independently, and maintain high standards without constant oversight. Key Responsibilities - Oversee daily kitchen operations at both restaurant locations. - Supervise, train, schedule, and develop kitchen employees. - Maintain consistent food quality, portion sizes, presentation, and recipe execution. - Manage inventory, ordering, food costs, waste, and kitchen supplies. - Ensure proper preparation, stocking, and readiness before each service. - Manage kitchen labor, staffing levels, attendance, and performance. - Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards. - Coordinate kitchen execution for catering orders, special events, and evening operations. - Address operational challenges and employee concerns promptly and professionally. - Implement and maintain established kitchen procedures and standards. - Communicate effectively with ownership and front-of-house management. Qualifications - Minimum 3 years of professional kitchen experience, including supervisory or management responsibilities. - Experience managing kitchen staff, inventory, and food costs. - Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. - Proven track record of dependability, professionalism, and accountability. - Ability to remain composed and lead effectively during high-volume service. - Comfortable working hands-on alongside kitchen staff when necessary. - Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently. - Reliable availability for scheduled shifts, including weekends and occasional evenings. - ServSafe Manager certification preferred.
