Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic hospitality team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within the food service industry, particularly in a busy restaurant or hotel environment. Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. The successful applicant will be committed to high standards of hygiene and teamwork, contributing to an exceptional guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans in accordance with health and safety standards
• Assisting with basic food preparation tasks when required
• Maintaining cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment
• Organising storage areas and ensuring all items are stored correctly
• Supporting chefs and kitchen staff during service periods
• Ensuring waste disposal is handled efficiently and in line with environmental policies
• Restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
• Adhering to all food safety regulations and hygiene protocols

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment is desirable but not mandatory
• Knowledge of food preparation and cooking processes is beneficial
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment and hygiene standards within hospitality settings
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
• Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings if required
