The Mother Shipton Inn is looking for a Kitchen Porter to join our brand-new kitchen team!

Following our exciting refurbishment and reopening, we're building a fantastic team to help make the Mother Shipton Inn one of Knaresborough's favourite places to eat, drink and relax.

We're looking for a hardworking, reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to play a vital role in keeping our kitchen running smoothly.

What you'll be doing

• Keeping the kitchen, equipment and work areas clean and tidy
• Washing up and keeping on top of the kitchen's cleaning schedule
• Supporting chefs with basic food preparation when required
• Ensuring plates, pans, utensils and equipment are always available
• Helping with deliveries, stock rotation and kitchen organisation
• Following food hygiene, health and safety procedures
• Working as part of a friendly and supportive kitchen team
• Helping to maintain the high standards expected from our newly refurbished kitchen

What we're looking for

You don't necessarily need previous kitchen experience — a great attitude and willingness to learn are more important.

We're looking for someone who is:

• Hardworking and dependable
• Organised and takes pride in keeping things clean
• Comfortable working in a busy environment
• A good team player
• Positive, friendly and willing to get stuck in
• Flexible with working hours, including evenings and weekends

Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter, Kitchen Assistant or in hospitality would be an advantage, but full training can be provided for the right person.
