Kitchen Porter – Amalfi Beckenham

Amalfi Beckenham is a family-run Italian restaurant, and we are looking for a reliable, hardworking and hands-on Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team.

The Kitchen Porter plays an important role in keeping the kitchen clean, organised and running smoothly. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has a good attitude and is willing to get involved and support the chefs throughout service.

Responsibilities

• Keep the kitchen clean, tidy and organised throughout the day
• Wash and clean dishes, plates, pans, utensils and kitchen equipment
• Sweep and mop floors and keep all kitchen areas clean and safe
• Empty bins and manage kitchen waste appropriately
• Assist the chefs with basic food preparation when required, such as washing, peeling and chopping vegetables
• Help with deliveries, unpacking and storing food and kitchen supplies
• Follow correct food storage and stock rotation procedures
• Keep fridges, storage areas and preparation areas clean and organised
• Ensure cleaning products and equipment are used safely
• Support the chefs and kitchen team during busy services
• Help with opening and closing duties
• Follow all food hygiene, health and safety procedures
• Carry out any other general kitchen duties required to keep the kitchen running efficiently

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter or in a restaurant kitchen is preferred but not essential
• A hardworking and positive attitude
• Reliable and punctual
• Able to work efficiently in a busy kitchen
• Good understanding of cleanliness and hygiene
• Willing to learn and follow instructions
• Able to work as part of a small team
• Physically fit and comfortable with a hands-on role
• Good attention to detail
• A genuine willingness to help the kitchen team wherever needed

Pay: From £12.71 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 45.0 per week

Work Location: In person
