Kitchen Porter

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations. Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain insight into the hospitality industry and develop culinary skills in a professional setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
• Support chefs with cooking and plating when required
• Ensure all kitchen areas are kept clean, hygienic, and organised at all times
• Wash, dry, and store dishes, utensils, pots, and pans efficiently
• Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and equipment in accordance with health and safety standards
• Help with stock organisation and restocking supplies as needed
• Support the team during service periods by ensuring timely clearance of used crockery and cutlery
• Follow all hygiene protocols and safety procedures diligently

Requirements

• Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality (desirable but not essential)
• Knowledge of kitchen hygiene standards and safety regulations
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Willingness to learn new skills and take on varied responsibilities
• Good communication skills and team spirit
• Flexibility to work shifts as required within the hospitality environment
