Kitchen Porter - Live-out (Please note, there is no staff accommodation available)

Shawarma City is looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our busy café and hospitality team. This is a key support role within our kitchen, ideal for someone who works well in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation.

As a Kitchen Porter, you will support chefs and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth daily operations while maintaining strict food hygiene and health & safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Washing dishes, utensils, cookware and kitchen equipment
Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen and food preparation areas
Assisting with basic food preparation (where required)
Removing waste and managing bins safely
Restocking cleaning supplies and kitchen items
Supporting chefs and kitchen staff during busy service periods
Following food safety and health & safety procedures
Required Skills & Experience

Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter, Kitchen Assistant, or in hospitality preferred
Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment
Good understanding of hygiene and cleanliness standards
Strong work ethic and reliability
Ability to work as part of a team
Physically able to stand for extended periods
Flexible availability, including weekends
Desirable (Not Essential)

Food hygiene certificate
Experience in cafés, restaurants, or commercial kitchens
Knowledge of basic food preparation tasks
