Job Overview

As a Kitchen Assistant, the right candidate will be responsible for carrying out cleaning in the kitchen as per the weekly and daily cleaning schedules, washing of pots, kitchen equipment, assist our drivers in cleaning of our delivery vans.

Duties

• Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to uphold strict hygiene standards
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and organising ingredients under supervision
• Ensure all kitchen tools are properly stored and maintained for efficient workflow
• Support the team by cleaning the mixers, ovens, provers and other large kitchen equipment
• Maintain cleanliness in all kitchen areas including floors, sinks, and storage spaces throughout shifts
• Follow health and safety regulations diligently to prevent accidents and contamination
• Assist with inventory management by notifying supervisors of supplies that need replenishing or replacement

Requirements

• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen setting is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm to learn is essential
• Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety protocols
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks with energy and efficiency
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards
• Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues
• Willingness to work flexible hours including early mornings, weekends, and bank holidays as required

Pay: £12.71-£13.00 per hour
