Kitchen Porter

We are currently looking for an experienced, reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our busy kitchen team on a full-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of an established, professional kitchen team within one of Scotland's leading spa destinations.

Applicants must have a minimum of one year's previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment.

The Role

As a Kitchen Porter, you will play an important role in the smooth day-to-day running of our kitchen, helping maintain the high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and organisation expected at Stobo Castle.

Working alongside our chefs and wider Food & Beverage team, your responsibilities will include:

• Operating the dishwasher and pot-wash areas.
• Washing and correctly storing crockery, cutlery, pots, pans and kitchen equipment.
• Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen and back-of-house areas.
• Cleaning kitchen equipment, floors and work areas.
• Assisting with the safe disposal of waste and recycling.
• Receiving and putting away deliveries when required.
• Keeping storage and service areas clean, tidy and organised.
• Supporting the chefs and wider kitchen team with general duties as required.
• Following all food hygiene, health & safety and company procedures.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a minimum of one year's experience working in a professional kitchen.
• Is reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Has a positive attitude and a strong team ethic.
• Is confident working in a busy, fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Takes pride in maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and organisation.
• Can work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
• Is flexible and available to work a mixture of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Is willing to support colleagues and assist wherever required.

Previous professional kitchen experience is essential, although full training on Stobo Castle's procedures and standards will be provided.

Working Hours

This is a full-time position, working a mixture of shifts across a seven-day operation.

Applicants must be flexible and available to work evenings and weekends, including Saturdays and Sundays, as required by the kitchen rota.
