Kitchen Porter/Assistant
Start date: as soon as possible
Due to internal progression within the team, we have an opportunity for a hard-working, reliable, friendly and enthusiastic individual to join our onsite catering team at St Hugh’s School.
This is a full time role working 37.5 hours a week, working 34 weeks a year based around term time, plus one week (35 weeks in total). The working hours for this role are predominantly working 10.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Thursday, with 8.00am to 4.00pm on Friday. 30 minutes unpaid break each day.
Your role will be to help maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment, including washing crockery, pots and kitchen equipment, keeping work areas tidy, and assisting with basic food preparation. You will be welcomed onto an enthusiastic, collaborative and dynamic team. Previous catering experience in a similar environment is desirable although full training will be given.
St Hugh's is a highly regarded co-educational day and boarding school. We are situated on a beautiful green campus of 40 acres in the South Oxfordshire countryside, only 25 minutes from Central Oxford. St Hugh’s opened a Senior School in September 2026. It is a very exciting time to be joining St Hugh’s.
St Hugh’s staff are an outstanding, hard-working and collaborative team who aim to give all our children academic and pastoral experience in a nurturing environment with wide ranging facilities. Each child is, therefore, able to discover what they are good at, thrive and gain confidence in themselves.
