Kitchen Helper Job Description

A Kitchen Helper assists in the daily operations of a kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, supporting food preparation, and ensuring a smooth workflow. This role is essential in helping chefs and cooks deliver quality meals efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in basic food preparation such as washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients
• Support line cooking and assist with simple cooking tasks during serving hours
• Help prepare and assemble dishes under the supervision of chefs during busy service periods
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
• Wash dishes, pots, and pans and ensure proper storage
• Dispose of waste and maintain cleanliness standards in accordance with health regulations
• Help receive, unpack, and store kitchen supplies and ingredients
• Refill supplies such as napkins, condiments, and cleaning materials
• Follow all food safety and hygiene standards

Skills and Qualifications:

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety
• Good teamwork and communication skills
• Physical stamina to stand for long hours and lift moderate weights
• Willingness to learn and take instructions

Work Environment:
Kitchen Helpers typically work in restaurants, hotels, cafeterias, or catering services. The role may involve shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
