Duties

• Prepare and assemble food items according to established recipes and safety standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, fryers, slicers, and food processors safely and efficiently
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by adhering to strict sanitation and food safety protocols, including proper food handling and storage
• Assist with menu planning by preparing ingredients and suggesting improvements based on customer preferences
• Serve customers at the cashier station with friendly, prompt service while accurately processing transactions
• Ensure all food preparation aligns with dietary guidelines and catering specifications when applicable
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation, timing, and special requests
• Follow safety standards in production, including knife skills, slicing techniques, and proper use of kitchen tools
• Support meal preparation for catering events or large orders as needed, maintaining recipe adherence
• Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating with colleagues and supporting overall restaurant operations

Skills

• Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of food safety management, handling procedures, and sanitation practices
• Proficiency in culinary techniques such as slicing, chopping, cooking, and recipe adherence
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with kitchen staff and customers
• Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Experience with dietary department standards or dietary aide responsibilities is a plus
• Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation, and catering processes
• Familiarity with safety standards in food production including knife skills and slicing techniques
• Demonstrated ability to maintain cleanliness through cleaning routines and food handling practices
• Enthusiasm for learning culinary skills and contributing to a team-focused environment
