Alder is a neighbourhood café, bakery and deli built around good food, good coffee and the everyday ritual of coming together.

We serve specialty coffee, freshly baked bread and pastries, alongside a seasonal menu made with carefully sourced ingredients.

A place for your morning coffee, lunch with friends, something fresh from the oven, or a loaf to take home. Simple things, made well and served with care.

The Role

You'll be part of our small kitchen team, preparing our brunch/lunch menu to a high standard, day in and day out. From prep to plating, you'll help keep our kitchen running smoothly during service, while caring about the quality and presentation of everything that leaves the pass. You'll work closely with the front-of-house team to keep the whole experience feeling considered and calm, even when it's busy.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience working in a professional kitchen (cafe, brunch, or restaurant setting)
• Confident with prep, cooking to order, and maintaining consistency during service
• Good knife skills and food handling practices
• Strong sense of cleanliness, organisation, and food safety standards
• Genuine care about quality and presentation
• Ability to stay calm and work efficiently under pressure
• Reliability and willingness to support the team
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
• Food hygiene certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
• Min wage + 10p with the potential for increase after the trail period

Pay: £12.71-£13.00 per hour
