Kitchen Staff

Hi, we are Formosa, a Taiwanese dumpling restaurant located in Brooklyn (Bushwick and Prospect Heights)
We are a small family owned business that strives to bring authentic tastes of Taiwan to the neighborhood.
We are looking for an experienced kitchen staff to join our team and grow with us.
Preferably full time.

Job responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve all dishes from our small and relatively simple menu following recipes and portion guidelines
• Assist in preparing ingredients (chopping vegetables, pre-frying mushroom etc)
• Check and restock ingredients and supplies
• Maintain overall cleanliness and organization of the kitchen
• Wash dishes. Opening and closing.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring the standard of quality is met
• Knowledge and experience in maintaining food safety and sanitation standards
• Open to learning and covering at FOH a plus

Qualifications:

• Previous kitchen or food-industry experience with basic understanding of food preparation and kitchen safety
• *Hardworking and fast with professional work attitude
• Willing to learn and help wherever needed
• *Ability to follow instruction and rules
• Openness to receive and provide feedback
• Ability to multi task and handle fast-paced rush hours
• Attention to detail and holds high standards for the work delivered
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• *Honest, reliable and trustworthy personality
• Food Handler certificate a plus

What we offer:

• Base rate + tip, the average hourly rate is between $20-22, depending on how busy we get. (kitchen staffs are included in the tip pool)
