This position focuses on preparing sandwiches, burritos, breakfast and lunch items, maintaining kitchen organization, following food prep standards, and supporting smooth daily operations. Responsibilities

• Prepare sandwiches, burritos, and other menu items according to Rainier Valley Coffee recipes and presentation standards
• Complete daily food prep tasks including chopping, portioning, stocking, labeling, and rotating ingredients
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment throughout shifts
• Follow all food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures
• Assist with inventory organization, restocking, and kitchen ordering support
• Wash dishes, clean equipment, and complete opening and closing cleaning tasks
• Work efficiently during busy rushes while maintaining food quality and accuracy
• Communicate effectively with baristas, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations
• Monitor product freshness and maintain proper food storage standards
• Support overall café operations and uphold Rainier Valley Coffee customer service standards

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen, food service, café, or restaurant experience preferred but not required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and consistency
• Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Ability to multitask and stay focused during busy periods
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Food Handler Permit preferred or willingness to obtain one
