Kitchen Steward

About the role

We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Kitchen Steward to assist in maintaining kitchen cleanliness, sanitation, and daily food preparation activities. The successful candidate will support the kitchen team in ensuring smooth operations and compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.

Key responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
• Clean, peel, slice, chop, and prepare ingredients according to the instructions of the chefs and kitchen staff.
• Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations, floors, and storage areas.
• Properly store and organize ingredients, kitchen supplies, and equipment.
• Ensure proper waste disposal and garbage segregation.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
• Assist in receiving and organizing kitchen supplies when necessary.
• Report damaged equipment, maintenance concerns, and sanitation issues to the immediate supervisor.
• Perform other kitchen-related duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.

About you

• At least a high school graduate or equivalent.
• Previous experience in kitchen operations, food preparation, or stewarding is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of food handling, ingredient preparation, and kitchen sanitation.
• Ability to safely handle knives and basic kitchen equipment.
• Physically fit and capable of standing for extended periods and performing cleaning tasks.
• Hardworking, dependable, organized, and willing to learn.
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Willing to work on shifting schedules, weekends, and holidays.
• Can start immediately.
