Kitchen Steward Supervisor

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Kitchen Steward Supervisor to supervise the kitchen stewarding team and ensure high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation and waste management across the kitchen and F&B areas.

The candidate will be responsible for team supervision, daily allocation of duties, proper cleaning of utensils and equipment, kitchen waste management, and maintaining hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the Kitchen Stewarding team on a daily basis.
• Allocate duties and work areas to Kitchen Stewards according to operational requirements.
• Ensure proper washing and cleaning of plates, glasses, cutlery, cooking vessels and kitchen equipment.
• Monitor cleanliness of kitchens, dishwashing areas, stores and utility areas.
• Ensure proper collection, segregation and disposal of food and kitchen waste.
• Monitor the availability and proper use of cleaning chemicals, materials and equipment.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Maintain adequate stock of cleaning materials and raise requirements to the concerned department.
• Ensure all utensils and equipment are cleaned, sanitized and stored properly.
• Conduct regular inspections of kitchen and stewarding areas.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, sanitation and workplace safety standards.
• Train and guide new Kitchen Stewards on cleaning procedures and hygiene practices.
• Prepare duty rosters and manage staff attendance and deployment.
• Coordinate with the Chef, F&B Manager and other departments to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Report equipment breakdowns, shortages, damages and maintenance requirements.
• Minimize wastage of water, cleaning chemicals and other consumables.
• Maintain daily checklists and stewarding records.
• Handle operational issues within the stewarding team and escalate major concerns to management.
• Ensure the stewarding area is ready before and maintained throughout service periods.

Candidate Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality or a related field is preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience in kitchen stewarding or hospitality operations.
• Previous experience as Kitchen Steward Supervisor / Stewarding Supervisor / Utility Supervisor will be an advantage.
• Good knowledge of kitchen hygiene, sanitation and cleaning procedures.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Physically fit and capable of handling operational stewarding responsibilities.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards will be an advantage.

Salary

₹18,000 – ₹25,000 per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
