Job Summary

The Orleans Room is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and team-oriented Kitchen Team Member to support food preparation and daily kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will be organized, attentive to cleanliness, and committed to maintaining consistent food quality and safe kitchen practices.

The Kitchen Team Member will assist with preparing ingredients, organizing supplies, supporting cooks during service, and keeping kitchen work areas clean and orderly. This position is suitable for someone who enjoys working collaboratively and wants to contribute to an efficient restaurant kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with daily food preparation and basic cooking tasks.
• Wash, peel, chop, and portion ingredients according to instructions.
• Prepare and organize ingredients before service begins.
• Support cooks with assembling and preparing menu items.
• Follow recipes and portion guidelines to maintain consistent food quality.
• Keep workstations, counters, floors, and food-preparation areas clean.
• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and equipment as needed.
• Store ingredients properly and follow food rotation procedures.
• Check ingredient freshness and report shortages to the supervisor.
• Follow food-safety, hygiene, and sanitation requirements.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff to help complete orders accurately and promptly.
• Assist with restocking, opening, closing, and other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred but may not be required.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen cleanliness.
• Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work efficiently during busy service periods.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift kitchen supplies as required.
• Willingness to learn new kitchen tasks and techniques.
• Availability for evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
