Kitchen Technician

Job Summary:
The Kitchen Technician is responsible for the proper installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of kitchen equipment and facilities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient kitchen operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair kitchen equipment and appliances.
• Perform preventive maintenance on ovens, stoves, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, exhaust systems, and other kitchen equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and plumbing-related problems.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and repair requests.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential equipment defects or safety hazards.
• Ensure all kitchen equipment is operating properly and safely.
• Replace defective parts and components when necessary.
• Maintain records of equipment inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff regarding equipment issues and maintenance schedules.
• Follow proper safety procedures when handling tools, electrical equipment, and machinery.
• Keep tools and work areas clean and organized.
• Assist with the installation and testing of newly acquired kitchen equipment.
• Perform other duties and maintenance tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

• With experience in kitchen equipment maintenance is an advantage.
• Knowledgeable in electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and basic plumbing systems.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to work on shifting schedules, weekends, and holidays when required.
• Physically fit and able to work in a hot and busy kitchen environment.
