Merlina's Restaurant at Mermaid Beach Surf Life Saving Club, on Hedges Avenue right on the beach, is looking for a motivated Kitchen Hand or Apprentice Chef to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for food who wants to start a career in the culinary industry. [Our kitchen hand role can lead to a full apprenticeship for the right person.]

Our experienced team of chefs will guide and train you, in a fun, professional and supportive kitchen.

What you'll do

• Help prepare food to menu requirements under the direction of our chefs
• Learn and use a range of cooking methods
• Help produce consistent, high-quality dishes
• Keep the kitchen clean and maintain hygiene standards

What we're looking for

• A team player with good communication skills
• Someone who takes direction well, is open-minded and eager to learn
• Strong attention to detail and consistency
• A positive, professional attitude
• Availability for [weekends / evenings / public holidays]
• Full working rights in Australia
• Food safety certificate – desirable, not essential
