Kitchen/Sushi Helper

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen/Sushi Helper to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, and support the sushi-making process. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic culinary environment, gaining hands-on experience in sushi preparation and kitchen operations. Candidates should have a basic understanding of making sushi rolls and be eager to learn and grow within the team.

Duties

• Assist with food preparation tasks, including ingredient setup and organization
• Support the sushi chef in making sushi rolls and other Japanese dishes
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen area
• Ensure all tools and workstations are properly sanitized and organized
• Help with inventory management by restocking supplies as needed
• Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment
• Assist with general kitchen duties such as dishwashing, waste disposal, and equipment maintenance

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of making sushi rolls or previous experience in sushi preparation preferred
• Strong attention to cleanliness and hygiene standards
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Willingness to learn new skills and follow instructions carefully
• Prior experience in a kitchen setting is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8.0 – 40.0 per week
