What they need
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
- Manage day and/or night dyeing operations in a knit dyeing factory on rotating shifts with a greater than 95% RFT (Right First Time) ratio.
- Oversee end-to-end shift activities including lot preparation, fabric loading, operations of Jets and/or Soft Flow machines. Ensure lots are completed within the allotted time & resources (dyes, chemicals, manpower, electricity, steam, water. Etc.etc.)
- · Supervise machine loading and/or unloading, color matching, chemical dosing, and staff performance to meet production targets safely and efficiently
PRODUCTION & FLOOR MANAGEMENT
- Execute Plans: Implement the daily production schedule for various knit structures (e.g., Single Jersey, Rib, Interlock, Terry, Fleece)
- Machine Allocation: Distribute lots efficiently across soft-flow, airflow, or HTHP (High Temperature High Pressure) knit dyeing machines.
- Machine Maintenance Coordination: Troubleshooting minor technical snags and timely reporting major mechanical faults to the maintenance team to minimize downtime
- Process Safety: Monitor steam pressure, water temperature, and chemical handling.
PROCESS & QUALITY CONTROL
- Shade Matching: Check batches against standard master swatches under specific light sources (D65, TL84) and coordinate with the lab for corrections.
- Parameter Monitoring: Supervise critical process parameters including pH levels, water hardness, temperature curves, and chemical dosing times for RFT dyeing.
- Defect Prevention: Troubleshoot on-the-floor fabric issues such as un-level dyeing (patchiness), crease marks, lint accumulation, and enzyme-washing variables.
- Quality Assurance: Monitoring parameters like temperature, chemical ratios, and pH levels to keep re-dyeing and fabric rejection percentages as low as possible.
- · Tension Control: Monitor machine reel speed and pump pressure to prevent fabric elongation, marks, or structural distortion.
TEAM & RESOURCE LEADERSHIP
- Manpower Handling: Allocate operators, loaders, and helpers across machines to maximize shift productivity.
- Shift Handover: Conduct clear shift handovers regarding running lots, pending shade approvals, and equipment maintenance status.
- Safety Enforcement: Ensure all floor staff wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when handling acids, alkalis, and reactive dyes.
QUALIFICATION & KEY SKILLS
- Education: A Diploma or B.Tech in Textile Chemistry, Textile Engineering, or a related chemical discipline.
- Experience: Typically requires 3 to 6 years of floor experience in a knit fabric dyeing facility.
- Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of dyeing recipes, chemicals, fabric types (cotton, polyester, blends), and machinery operations.
- Core Competencies: Strong shift planning, troubleshooting, team management, and interpersonal communication skills.
Pay: Rs60,000.00 - Rs75,000.00 per month
