Kognic exists to solve the bottleneck to autonomy: integrating human feedback on data at fleet scale. This role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) at Kognic China, you'll own the whole customer journey. You'll start by uncovering what the customer really needs annotated. Then you'll fix their data, build the workflows and set delivery targets. At the end, you'll hand back output in the customer's own format and turn a great delivery into a customer who stays and grows.

You'll be both a trusted advisor and a hands-on engineer. You'll guide customers onto the platform, make sure their datasets meet the quality bar, and shape how they use Kognic to build their data flywheel.

We are looking for you!

We're looking for someone who combines deep technical expertise with confidence in front of customers

• Takes end-to-end ownership of delivery excellence (quality, productivity and throughput), and lays the foundation for land-and-expand
• Has hands-on experience delivering datasets to train and validate autonomous driving models and systems
• Builds customer data pipelines and programmatic quality checks
• Steers production outcomes by managing LQMs
• Has solid machine learning knowledge and loves leveraging Agentic AI to build automated workflows
• Brings project management experience
• Speaks native-level Chinese and fluent English, both written and spoken
• Has expertise in SLAM, sensor calibration or computer vision (coordinate frames, transformations, projections, geometry, linear algebra)

You get customers. You understand the real pain of building sensor-fusion datasets for an AI-driven autonomous driving stack. You manage expectations so well that customers trust you, and you lead teams across Kognic to solve problems fast.

You stay ahead. You track new technology and know how it changes annotation needs. The latest Kognic features never pass you by.

You get your hands dirty. When quality and productivity pull in different directions, you dive into the data. You know what to run to get data ready for annotation, and you build the import and export pipelines yourself. You design the best workflows in the Kognic platform, and you read usage trends to push adoption further.

You thrive under pressure. When several things compete for your attention, you keep the critical path moving.

A day in your life

You might start by leading a customer meeting or demoing the platform. Next you review outputs, solve a tricky data or workflow problem, and advise customers and workforce partners on getting top quality at top speed. Along the way, you're scripting in Python, working with Kognic APIs, and using AI tools to automate everything you can.
