Source Supply is currently recruiting for a KS1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in the Redcar and Cleveland area. This long-term supply opportunity would suit a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant with experience working with children in a primary school setting.

KS1 Teaching Assistant – About the Role

As a KS1 Teaching Assistant, you will work across Year 1 and Year 2, providing classroom and individual support to pupils throughout their daily learning.

Working closely with the class teacher and wider KS1 team, you will help pupils develop essential literacy, numeracy, reading and phonics skills, while creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 (KS1), including Year 1 and Year 2.
• Providing one-to-one and small-group learning support.
• Supporting the delivery of phonics and reading activities.
• Helping pupils develop their literacy and numeracy skills.
• Assisting the class teacher with classroom activities and learning resources.
• Encouraging positive behaviour, independence and self-regulation.
• Supporting pupils’ social and emotional development.
• Building positive relationships with pupils and helping them to develop confidence in their learning.
• Working collaboratively with teachers and other school staff to support pupil progress.

Requirements – KS1 Teaching Assistant

To be considered for this KS1 Teaching Assistant role, successful applicants will:

• Have previous experience working with children in a school or primary education setting.
• Have a nurturing, patient and consistent approach to supporting children.
• Have recent and referenceable experience working within a school environment.
• Be passionate about education and committed to helping children thrive.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Have a positive, flexible and professional attitude.
• Be confident supporting children on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
• Ideally hold a full, clean driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
