The role involves executing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments, managing CI/CD pipelines, leading P1/P2 calls, and providing high-level support for critical environments. The engineer will ensure availability, scalability, and reliability across Kubernetes and cloud platforms while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

● Manage and maintain Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters, Azure Container Apps, and containerized workloads across environments.

● Perform troubleshooting and resolution for complex issues related to Kubernetes clusters, networking, ingress controllers, and scheduling.

● Implement and manage automation workflows through Terraform and other Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks.

● Oversee CI/CD pipeline execution and integration using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.

● Lead and coordinate resolution during critical P1/P2 incidents, managing technical bridges and client communications.

● Perform Kubernetes upgrades, patching, and configuration optimization to ensure reliability and compliance.

● Collaborate with DevOps, Cloud, and Application teams to integrate container platforms with build and deployment processes.

● Design and implement monitoring and logging solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Azure Monitor.

● Apply cloud-native security practices and implement RBAC, secrets management, and compliance configurations.

● Maintain and optimize resource utilization, autoscaling, and workload balancing within Kubernetes environments.

● Document all operational processes, technical designs, and issue resolutions.

● Mentor L1 and L2 teams on Kubernetes troubleshooting, CI/CD integration, and incident response.

Required Skills and Experience

● Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes infrastructure administration, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

● Good understanding of Azure Container Apps and other PaaS container orchestrations.

● Proficiency in IaC with Terraform and configuration management automation tools.

● In-depth knowledge of CI/CD pipeline management using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.

● Skilled in troubleshooting Kubernetes components such as pods, services, deployments, and ingress controllers.

● Expertise in Helm chart management and Kubernetes upgrades.

● Familiarity with Azure cloud services like ACR, VNet integration, network policies, and managed identities.

● Knowledge of container registry management, image security scanning, and deployment best practices.

● Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and integrations.

● Proven ability to lead troubleshooting and resolution during P1/P2 incidents with cross-team coordination.

● Understanding of ITIL-based operations, change, incident, and problem management.

Key Competencies

● Strong documentation skills to maintain SOPs, architecture diagrams, and RCA reports.

● Clear and effective communication skills for client interactions, incident bridges, and stakeholder updates.

● Ability to lead P1/P2 incident calls under pressure, ensuring transparency and structured resolution.

● Proactive and analytical mindset for identifying performance bottlenecks and process improvements.

● Team leadership and mentoring ability to guide L1/L2 engineers.

● Cross-functional collaboration skills for working with Cloud, Network, and DevOps teams.

Certifications and Qualifications

● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.

● Kubernetes certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) preferred.

● Microsoft certifications like Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect desirable.

● Terraform Associate certification or equivalent IaC experience preferred.
