KYC / AML Specialist (Contract)

Our client is seeking a KYC / AML Specialist to support its regulatory and business compliance activities. This is a hands-on role covering AML, sanctions screening, policy implementation and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily compliance matters, including KYC reviews, AML and sanctions alerts involving customers, vendors and vessels, and maintain relevant registers.
• Track regulatory developments, assess their impact on business activities and communicate required actions to stakeholders.
• Review and strengthen compliance policies, procedures and controls in line with regulatory requirements.
• Drive the implementation of compliance initiatives, coordinating responsibilities, timelines and progress updates to senior management.
• Advise business teams on compliance issues and recommend practical, risk-based solutions.
• Conduct periodic compliance reviews to identify gaps and follow through on corrective actions.
• Prepare and review reports for board committees and regulatory authorities.
• Develop and deliver staff training, promote awareness of compliance obligations and provide departmental administrative support.

Requirements:

• Degree in Business or a related discipline, with 3 to 5 years of relevant regulatory or compliance experience.
• Sound knowledge of AML, KYC, sanctions and regulatory compliance, with hands-on experience translating policies into daily processes.
• Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills, with close attention to detail.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across business units.
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision, including under remote management.
