L1 IT Support Engineer Customer Site

Role & responsibilities

Job Summary

We are looking for L1 IT Support Engineers to provide on-site IT support at a customer location in Bhiwandi.

The candidate will be responsible for first-level troubleshooting and resolution of issues related to desktops, laptops, Windows OS, printers, IT peripherals, basic networking, and basic firewall/network security.

The engineer will work closely with the customer's IT team and internal L2/L3 support teams for escalation and resolution of complex technical issues.

Key Responsibilities

Desktop & Laptop Support

• Provide L1 technical support for desktops, laptops, monitors, docking stations and other IT peripherals.
• Troubleshoot hardware issues including system power, RAM/storage, keyboard, mouse, display, battery and adapter-related problems.
• Perform basic hardware replacement and coordinate with OEM/vendor support when required.
• Install and configure desktops/laptops as per customer standards.
• Support Windows OS installation, configuration and basic troubleshooting.
• Troubleshoot Windows login, application and system-related issues.
• Install and configure basic business applications, drivers and system utilities.
• Perform basic system health checks.

Basic Network Support

• Basic understanding of LAN, WAN, IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway and DNS.
• Configure and troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues.
• Perform troubleshooting using Ping, Tracert, IPConfig and NSLookup.
• Identify LAN cable, switch-port and connectivity-related issues.
• Basic understanding of managed and unmanaged switches.
• Coordinate with Network L2/L3 teams for complex network issues.
• Assist with network device health checks and basic documentation.

Basic Firewall & Security Support

• Basic understanding of firewall concepts and network security.
• Knowledge of Firewall Rules/Policies, NAT, Ports & Protocols, TCP/IP and VPN concepts.
• Perform basic firewall connectivity troubleshooting.
• Collect required information for firewall-related incidents.
• Coordinate with L2/L3 firewall/security teams for policy changes and complex issues.
• No independent firewall policy modification is expected at L1 level unless authorized by the customer.

Printer & Peripheral Support

• Troubleshoot network and USB printer issues.
• Install and configure printer drivers.
• Resolve basic printing, scanning and connectivity issues.
• Support barcode scanners, UPS, monitors and other IT peripherals, wherever applicable.

User Support

• Provide first-level technical support to end users.
• Respond to incidents and service requests within defined SLA.
• Assist users with day-to-day IT-related issues.
• Maintain professional communication with customer users and IT teams.
• Provide on-site/remote assistance as required.

Preferred candidate profile

Educational Qualification

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc. / BCA or any IT-related qualification.

1-1.5 years of experience in:
