Job Description (JD) — L1/L2/L3 Production Support Engineer

Role: L1/L2/L3 Production Support Engineer

Experience: 2+ Years

Location: Bangalore

Shift: Rotational / 24x7 Support (if applicable)

Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled L1/L2 Production Support Engineer to monitor, troubleshoot, and support enterprise applications in a production environment. The candidate will be responsible for incident management, issue resolution, monitoring system health, and ensuring high application availability.

Key Responsibilities

L1 Support Responsibilities

Monitor production applications and infrastructure

Handle alerts, incidents, and service requests

Perform initial troubleshooting and issue triaging

Escalate unresolved issues to L2/L3 teams

Monitor batch jobs, APIs, servers, and application health

Maintain incident logs and update tickets in ticketing tools

Ensure SLA compliance for incident resolution

Coordinate with users and internal teams during outages

L2 Support Responsibilities

Investigate and resolve complex production issues

Analyze application logs and server errors

Perform root cause analysis (RCA)

Support deployments and release activities

Execute SQL queries for data validation and fixes

Troubleshoot API failures, database issues, and performance bottlenecks

Work with development and DevOps teams for permanent fixes

Create automation scripts for repetitive support tasks

Required Skills

Technical Skills

Good knowledge of Linux/Unix commands

Strong SQL skills (joins, subqueries, indexing, stored procedures)

Understanding of application support and incident management

Experience with monitoring tools:

Tools

Ticketing: ServiceNow, Jira

CI/CD: Jenkins, Git

Database: Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server

Soft Skills

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

Good communication skills

Ability to work in rotational shifts

Team collaboration and incident coordination

Ability to handle high-pressure production issues

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science/IT or related field/Graduates
