L2 AS400/RPG Technical Lead

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage technical teams throughout project execution and delivery.
• Design, review, and recommend technical architectures and solutions aligned with business requirements.
• Develop and review AS400/RPG solutions for application enhancements and local modifications.
• Ensure code quality, application performance, scalability, security, and adherence to development standards.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to developers.
• Conduct code reviews and identify opportunities for performance and application improvements.
• Oversee system integration, deployment activities, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and cross-functional technology teams to translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
• Support project planning, effort estimation, resource planning, and delivery timelines.
• Ensure adherence to established methodologies, technical standards, security policies, and best practices.
• Identify and resolve technical issues and risks that may impact project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 5–7 years of professional experience in AS400/RPG development.
• Strong hands-on experience designing algorithms and developing RPG/AS400 programs.
• Proven experience leading technical teams and projects.
• Strong background in system architecture and solution design.
• Experience managing end-to-end project delivery covering design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Hands-on experience with code review, performance optimization, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Experience collaborating with business stakeholders, architects, developers, and other cross-functional teams.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and software development best practices.
• Good communication skills with the ability to effectively translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Knowledge of Financial Core Banking processes is an advantage.
• Exposure to EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) is a plus.
• Experience with API interfaces/integration is a plus.
