As a Fitted Interiors Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced professionals learning every aspect of the business, from carefully dismantling and preparing fitted furniture through to spraying, refinishing, repairing and reinstalling kitchens and bedrooms to a high standard. This is a hands-on role that combines practical craftsmanship, customer service and attention to detail.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

• Assist with the removal and dismantling of kitchens, bedrooms and fitted furniture.
• Prepare surfaces for spraying, painting and refinishing.
• Learn professional spraying techniques for kitchens, furniture and fitted interiors.
• Repair and refurbish doors, cabinets and furniture components.
• Assist with the installation and reassembly of kitchens and bedrooms.
• Maintain tools, equipment and workshop areas.
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
• Deliver excellent customer service when working within clients’ homes.
• Learn all aspects of the business from experienced team members.

Course contents

The Level 2 Interior Systems Installer Apprenticeship develops the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to work competently within the interior systems installation industry. Apprentices learn how to interpret technical drawings and specifications, prepare work areas, select and use appropriate tools and equipment, and install interior systems in accordance with industry standards. Course content includes the installation of partitions, drylining, suspended ceilings and associated components, alongside health and safety, safe working practices, material handling, measuring and setting out, quality control, and the correct use of personal protective equipment. Apprentices also develop communication, teamwork, problem-solving and professional workplace skills, enabling them to work effectively on construction sites while maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and efficiency.

• A driving licence is desirable.
