Job Summary:

As an L2 Network Security Support Expert, the candidate will manage firewall, proxy and exception workflows for the client's Security Assurance function. The role reduces risk exposure by remediating weak firewall rules, governs Zscaler proxy policy and streamlines exception processes through automation.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Manage the "Security Assurance" ServiceNow queue for network firewall and proxy/proxy-firewall requests.
• Review and remediate unused, shadowed, redundant and overly permissive firewall rules.
• Refine rule bases to reduce risk exposure and improve firewall performance.
• Plan and remediate HIGH-risk components related to Internet-bound traffic in perimeter firewalls and Zscaler proxies.
• Manage, document and automate the exception request process for proxy, firewall and USB access.
• Facilitate migration of effort IDs to the third-party SODC, ensuring data integrity and continuity.
• Manage notifications and changes to Zscaler URL categories and keep stakeholders informed promptly.
• Manage SSL bypass requests, including validation and approval workflows.
• Generate ad hoc Splunk reports to analyze user access to Internet URLs.
• Review and audit access controls for URLs, cloud apps and tenant profiles to protect sensitive data.

Key Skills:

• At least 6+ years of experience in IT with 4+ years in network security operations.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls (Palo Alto, Check Point, Fortinet or Cisco).
• Strong experience with Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA): URL categories, SSL inspection/bypass, cloud app control and tenant restrictions.
• Experience with firewall policy analysis tools (Tufin, AlgoSec or FireMon) is highly desirable.
• Working knowledge of Splunk searches and reporting.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, NAT, DNS, proxies and PKI/SSL.
• Experience with ServiceNow request and change workflows.
• Scripting/automation skills (Python, PowerShell or Ansible) to streamline exception workflows.
• Understanding of ITIL change management and audit requirements.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills across global teams.
• High level of initiative and ownership mentality.

Education & Certifications:

• B.Tech / B.E / M.Tech / MCA OR Any PG (Computer Science, IT, Information Security or related discipline).
• Technical Certifications are desired and a plus, such as: Palo Alto PCNSE, Zscaler ZDTA / ZDTE, Check Point CCSA/CCSE, Fortinet NSE 4+, Cisco CCNP Security.

Annual Base Salary Range for CA, CO, IL, NJ, NY, WA, and DC: $100,000 to $125,000. Actual compensation offered may vary depending on factors including but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training and/or experience.
