L2 Support Engineer – Charging, Payment or Settlement Application

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate failed, duplicate, delayed, or mismatched payment and billing transactions.
• Perform transaction reconciliation between applications, payment gateways, and downstream systems.
• Support transaction reprocessing, correction activities, and financial-impact incident resolution.
• Monitor APIs, interfaces, batch jobs, and system integrations to ensure smooth transaction processing.
• Analyze application logs, transaction records, and database data to identify root causes.
• Protect audit trails and ensure compliance with financial and operational controls.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve critical payment-related incidents.
• Support application releases, deployments, and post-release validations.
• Ensure adherence to SLA, change management, security, and documentation standards.
• Participate in on-call support rotations and drive continuous service improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

• Experience supporting Telecom Charging, Billing, Payment, or Settlement Applications.
• Strong SQL querying and database troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of Payment Gateway Integration and transaction lifecycle management.
• Experience in Transaction Reconciliation and Financial Controls.
• Strong skills in API Analysis, Log Analysis, and Incident Troubleshooting.
• Exposure to cloud operations, monitoring, and observability tools.
• Understanding of Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management processes.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting telecom BSS/OSS environments.
• Familiarity with digital payment platforms, e-wallets, or banking integrations.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, ELK, or Datadog.
• Understanding of financial compliance, audit requirements, and operational risk controls.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in Application Support, Telecom Billing Support, Payment Systems Support, Settlement Operations, or Production Support.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work in a 24x7 support environment and manage critical incidents effectively.
