L2 Technical Support Engineer - Linux / Cloud

About the Role

Tribal's Cloud Services team supports the systems that help education providers deliver for their students. We are looking for a hands-on L2 Technical Support Engineer to support Linux-based production environments and enterprise applications used by customers across EMEA and APAC.

Internally titled Associate Technical Lead, this is an individual contributor role rather than a people-management position. You will own incidents, troubleshoot technical issues and help keep cloud-hosted services stable and reliable.

What You'll Do

• Own L2 incidents and service requests through investigation and resolution within SLA targets.
• Troubleshoot Linux-based production issues using command-line tools, system and application logs, and monitoring platforms.
• Support routine administration, maintenance, backups, scheduled tasks and service checks across Linux and Windows environments.
• Assist with software deployments, upgrades, technical maintenance and the transition of new services into Business-as-Usual support.
• Use database knowledge to investigate issues, validate data and support technical troubleshooting where required.
• Work closely with Technical Leads, Product Support and Development teams, escalating issues with clear technical evidence.
• Monitor and support hosted environments while building practical knowledge of AWS and Azure services.
• Create clear SOPs, troubleshooting guides and technical documentation for customers and internal teams.

What You'll Bring

Essential experience

• Hands-on experience supporting or administering Linux-based production environments.
• Experience in L2 technical, application, platform or infrastructure support.
• Practical troubleshooting using logs, monitoring tools and Linux command-line activity.
• Experience owning incidents or service requests and working within SLA targets.
• A technical customer-facing background with clear written and verbal communication.
• Familiarity with an IT service management or ticketing platform such as ServiceNow, RemedyForce, Jira Service Management or similar.

Helpful, but not essential

• SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL or other relational database exposure.
• Practical AWS or Azure exposure, or relevant cloud certification or formal training.
• Experience with Windows Server, Docker, Apache Tomcat, Jenkins or similar technologies.
• Experience supporting deployments, client/server applications or n-tier environments.
• ITIL Foundation certification or knowledge of IT service management practices.

Note: This role falls under Tribal's On-Call and Out-of-Hours Working Policy. Regular out-of-hours work may be required and will be compensated accordingly.
