L2/L3 test automation engineer

We are seeking a skilled Test Automation Engineer to join the L2/L3 protocol test teams.

The ideal candidate will have experience in network test automation, CI/CD integrations, and collaborative development processes. You will work closely with Dev and test teams to deliver high-quality, automated test solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for L2/L3 features.
• Collaborate with engineering and QA teams to understand L2/L3 feature requirements and translate them into automation scenarios.
• Creation of planned automated tests covering forwarding plane functionality, including policy, path selection, and traffic-based measurements.
• Analyze automation results, identify and troubleshoot defects, and deliver detailed reports with recommendations.
• Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Git, GitHub, Earms and Jenkins.
• Support defect reproduction and triaging, with a focus on automation-related (autons) issues.
• Document test plans, automation frameworks, procedures, and results for knowledge transfer.
• Leverage AI-powered tools (e.g., Copilot, CircuIT) to enhance test automation efficiency.
• Deliver final handover documentation and conduct knowledge transfer sessions to the engineering teams in Cisco.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in test automation for networking.
• Strong programming skills in Python and scripting languages -YAML, JSON, C (good to have)
• Hands-on experience with Git/GitHub, Jenkins, and automated deployment pipelines.
• Experience with automation test frameworks (such as pytest, pyATS or similar).
• Familiarity with networking concepts like routing and switching.
• Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Networking technologies and Cisco networking products.
• Prior experience using AI tools for test automation augmentation.

Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,800,000.00 per year
