Lab Assistant

Job Summary:

Assist the laboratory team with sampling, sample preparation, routine testing, and recordkeeping to support quality control and safe operations at the refinery plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, label, and prepare samples of crude oil, petroleum products, and process materials according to approved procedures.
• Assist laboratory chemists with routine quality tests under supervision.
• Clean and maintain laboratory glassware, equipment, and work areas.
• Record test results accurately and report any irregularities to the laboratory chemist.
• Monitor laboratory supplies and assist with inventory control.
• Follow safety procedures when handling chemicals and petroleum samples, including proper PPE use and waste disposal.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Diploma or certificate in Chemistry, Laboratory Technology, or a related field.
• Previous laboratory experience, preferably in a refinery or petroleum environment.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment, chemical handling, and safety practices.
• Good attention to detail, recordkeeping, and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work shifts as required.
