🔍 Scope of Role Under direct supervision, the Lab Assistant is responsible for collecting and processing patient specimens, performing basic analysis, maintaining lab equipment, and supporting patient flow. This role plays a vital part in ensuring accurate and timely lab results while upholding safety and compliance standards.

Responsibilities ✅ Key Responsibilities

• Collect specimens from patients as ordered
• Document and process lab results according to established procedures
• Perform basic analysis of chemistry, hematology, and immunology specimens
• Maintain lab inventory and ensure supply viability
• Send specimens to reference labs and chart incoming results
• Operate and maintain lab equipment under CLIA guidelines
• Perform phlebotomy and sample collection as needed
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety protocols
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Qualifications 🎓 Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• 0–3 years of relevant experience (entry-level welcome!)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
• Comfortable working in a clinical environment with potential exposure to biohazards

💪 Physical & Work Environment

• Requires manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs
• Exposure to patients, blood/body fluids, and laboratory chemicals
• Must be able to sit/stand for extended periods and maintain a clean, organized workspace
