Lab Assistant -International School

JOB SUMMARY:

The role holder is responsible to support and enhance the delivery of science education within our campus. In this full-time role, you will play a key part in preparing laboratory materials, ensuring safety compliance, and assisting in teaching and guiding students to create a safe, engaging, and effective learning environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Functional:

• Assists in preparing laboratory equipment, materials, and resources for practical lessons in accordance with the curriculum.
• Ensures laboratory safety procedures are strictly followed and maintains a safe learning environment at all times.
• Maintains laboratory inventory, organizes equipment, and reports any damages or replenishment needs.
• Supports teachers during practical sessions by guiding students in experiments and hands-on activities.
• Supervises students to ensure discipline, engagement, and safety within the classroom and laboratory.
• Assists in marking assignments and recording students’ progress when required.
• Participates in school activities, meetings, assemblies, and relevant co-curricular programs.
• Ensures the overall well-being and safety of students throughout school hours.

Interaction:

• Works closely with subject teachers and academic coordinators to ensure smooth lesson delivery and lab operations.
• Communicates with teachers regarding lesson requirements, student progress, and any classroom concerns.
• Provides feedback to parents during Parent-Teacher Meetings when assigned or required.

CHILD PROTECTION & SAFEGUARDING

• Maintain awareness of student safety and well-being while interacting with students and parents.
• Be alert to any concerns that may indicate a safeguarding or child protection issue.
• Promptly report any safeguarding concerns through the school's established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries when interacting with students.
• Complete required safeguarding and child protection training and comply with applicable school policies and procedures.

CONFIDENTIALITY & DATA PROTECTION

• Maintain strict confidentiality of student, parent, employee and school information.
• Handle personal and sensitive information responsibly and disclose such information only to authorised persons or where required by Company policy or applicable law.
• Ensure all parent communications, complaints, feedback and related documentation are properly maintained and secured.
