Lab Assistant - MCA

Job Summary

We are looking for a technically skilled and responsible Lab Assistant to support MCA computer laboratory operations, assist faculty and students during practical sessions, maintain lab systems and software, and ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of the laboratory.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist faculty and students during MCA & BCA practical and laboratory sessions.
• Ensure proper functioning of computers, networking, peripherals and lab equipment.
• Install, configure and maintain required software, programming tools and applications.
• Ensure timely system updates, backups and basic IT security practices.
• Support programming, database, web development and other MCA practical activities.
• Prepare and maintain lab-related reports, records and documentation.
• Coordinate with faculty/IT team for technical requirements and maintenance.
• Ensure the laboratory remains clean, organized and operational.

Eligibility Criteria

• MCA/M.Sc. Computer Science/IT or equivalent qualification.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Freshers with strong technical knowledge may also apply.

Required Skills

• Good knowledge of Computer Hardware, Software and Networking.
• Basic knowledge of C/C++, Java, Python, SQL and Web Technologies.
• Operating Systems, software installation and troubleshooting.
• Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and basic documentation.
• Knowledge of Windows, DBMS, programming IDEs and development tools.
• Basic understanding of network configuration and IT support.
