Lab Assistant (Mechanical Engineering)

Department: FET (faculty of Engineering and Technology) - Mechanical Engineering

Job Summary

Responsible for assisting faculty and students in conducting practical sessions, maintaining laboratory equipment, ensuring safety, and supporting day-to-day operations of Mechanical Engineering laboratories and workshops.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage laboratory equipment, tools, instruments, and materials for practical sessions.
• Assist faculty and students during experiments, demonstrations, projects, and practical activities.
• Operate, maintain, and perform basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
• Maintain laboratory records, inventory, equipment registers, and consumable stock.
• Ensure cleanliness, safety, PPE compliance, and proper functioning of laboratories.
• Support preventive maintenance, calibration, and servicing of equipment.
• Assist in departmental projects, workshops, inspections, and academic activities.

• Electric Vehicle (EV) Lab
• 3D Printing / Additive Manufacturing Lab

Qualification & Skills

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Practical knowledge of Mechanical Engineering tools, machines, instruments, and laboratory equipment.
• Basic knowledge of CAD/CAM, manufacturing processes, EV technology, and 3D printing.
• Good communication, documentation, troubleshooting, and safety awareness.
• Relevant laboratory/workshop experience will be an advantage.

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
