What they need
Lab Coordinator
Help protect the quality and consistency of the products people count on. As a Lab Coordinator, you will guide day-to-day Quality Assurance activities, review records, support finished-product release decisions, and help the Bloomsburg team respond quickly and accurately to potential quality issues.
In this hands-on role, you will combine laboratory testing, documentation, systems work, and cross-functional coordination. You will support audit readiness, investigate quality incidents, manage product and raw-material holds, and help ensure safe, consistent products that meet company, state, and federal standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine testing of ingredients and finished products accurately, identify results that fall outside established standards, and provide timely feedback to operations.
Review Quality Assurance records and support positive release decisions for finished products using systems such as SureTrend, Korber, Redzone, and other applicable tools.
Initiate shift quality incident investigations and support corrective and preventive action reports, consumer complaint investigations, mock recalls, trace exercises, thermal-process deviations, and hold evaluations.
Lead ingredient and finished-product hold investigations, recommend approval or rejection based on quality-control principles, communicate rejected ingredient results, and coordinate third-party laboratory evaluation when required.
Coordinate with Purchasing, Receiving, Supply Chain, and Quality Assurance to track raw-material testing, delivery schedules, inventory, Certificates of Analysis, deadlines, and lot releases.
Prepare, document, and ship raw-material samples for external testing; follow up with laboratories so results are available when needed; and maintain related shelf-life extension documentation.
Place identified lots or batches on hold in inventory and tracking systems, communicate holds to required personnel, tag affected pallets, and maintain accurate supporting documentation.
Support plant audit readiness by maintaining an organized work area and following safety, GMP, sanitation, quality, SOP, SQF, and team requirements.
Provide shift support through daily huddles, document review and updates, environmental swabbing, right-to-run inspections, sensory and organoleptic product review, authorized temporary specification routing, and vitamin receipt sign-off.
Troubleshoot and calibrate laboratory instruments, support Quality systems and Redzone updates, order supplies within budget requirements, schedule coverage as needed, and complete other projects assigned by Quality Food Safety leadership.
