Job Summary Responsible for controlling slip and glaze and the laboratory process for sanitaryware production to ensure conformity to required standards and specifications; leading research and development of new formulas and replacement raw materials for cost reduction; and coordinating the work of the lab team.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Slip and Glaze control:
• Measure slip and glaze specifications to be used in production processes.
• Give the right solutions when slip and/or glaze specifications are out of target.
• Give solutions for problems from FF & RF firing.
• Improve slip and glaze quality.
• Process control: monitor and control the lab process, raw materials and slip/glaze preparation; work with the production stages to resolve process issues.
• Research & development: develop new formulas, and research and test replacement raw materials for cost reduction.
• Team coordination: coordinate the lab team’s work and check associates’ work to ensure procedures are strictly followed; call attention to mistakes and initiate corrective actions immediately.
• Lab equipment: ensure testing machines in the lab are in good operation, and calibrate equipment.
• Documentation: update lab procedures and documents in line with ISO requirements.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Job Specification

• Knowledge & Skills:

Inorganic chemistry; laboratory testing and process control in a manufacturing environment

Team coordination

• Education, Training, Qualifications:

University degree in Materials Science or Chemical Engineering

• Experience:

2–3 years working in a plant laboratory

Ceramics/sanitaryware Experience Is An Advantage, Not Required

• Personality:

Hardworking, patient

Team player with good coordination skills
