Lab Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

This position has the responsibility of supporting the mission of the hospital, which includes the provision of the highest quality care and service to all of its customers. The Manager assesses, plans, directs, and evaluates patient care delivery systems for the department. Is responsible for meeting the regulatory agency’s requirements and the Standards of Practice for the specific clinical area. Manages all personnel, supplies, and equipment. Promotes teamwork with physicians, personnel, and other departments. Utilizes knowledge of standards, policies, and procedures as outlined for the hospital.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Education: Bachelor degree in Medical Technology or one of the basic sciences with documented formal clinical laboratory training or equivalent as defined by CLIA. Certification as a Medical Technologist, MT (ASCP), MT (AMT), HHS (HEW), or CLS (NCA).

Minimum Experience:

Progressive lab experience of which at least 4 years of supervisory experience in the clinical lab. Basic Knowledge of a wide variety of clinical laboratory procedures, quality control, maintenance of equipment, management techniques and competence in the use of verbal and written English.

Current BLS required.
