Lab Support Assistant | Training Provided

Job Overview

We are looking for Lab Support Assistants to support the day-to-day operations of a biotechnology laboratory.

This is a hands-on laboratory support role where you will work closely with laboratory personnel and perform assigned duties according to established SOPs, checklists and work instructions.

The position includes basic laboratory housekeeping and cleaning of apparatus, together with general operational and administrative support. No specialised science qualification or prior laboratory experience is required, and training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Support laboratory personnel with daily operational activities
• Wash, clean and prepare laboratory apparatus and equipment for use
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of laboratory work areas
• Prepare and arrange basic equipment and materials as required
• Perform basic labelling, recording and documentation duties
• Carry out assigned tasks according to established SOPs and checklists
• Maintain good hygiene and safety practices within the laboratory
• Communicate and coordinate with laboratory personnel and team members
• Support additional laboratory functions after appropriate training
• Perform other general laboratory support duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum secondary education, Nitec or equivalent
• No specialised science qualification required
• Prior laboratory experience is not required; training will be provided
• Candidates with experience in healthcare, laboratory support, pharmaceutical/biotech production, cleanroom, manufacturing, operations or other SOP-driven environments are encouraged to apply
• Able to communicate effectively in English
• Comfortable following detailed SOPs, checklists and work instructions
• Good attention to detail and able to maintain accurate records
• Comfortable performing hands-on duties, including washing laboratory apparatus
• Able to work effectively and collaborate with different team members
• Responsible, reliable and willing to learn

Working Environment

• Clean and air-conditioned laboratory environment
• Standard PPE includes lab coat, hair net and mask
• Selected employees may be assigned to cleanroom operations with additional PPE
• Training provided according to assigned responsibilities
