Lab Technician

Requirements:

• At least a Professional Certificate, Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, or a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related technical field

• Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in construction material testing or laboratory work

• Proven experience in field and lab testing of construction materials is highly preferred

• Familiarity with Malaysian construction standards, testing methods, and specifications

• Experience in operating laboratory and field testing equipment

• Knowledge of concrete, aggregate, soil, and other construction material testing procedures will be an advantage

• Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions, technical specifcations, and testing procedures

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in conducting tests and maintaining records

• Good communication skills, with the ability to prepare technical reports

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct testing, sampling, and examination of construction materials, both on-site and in the lab environment

• Perform quality control tests on construction materials

• Prepare samples and carry out lab test in accordance with project specifications and relevant standards

• Record, analyse, and interpret test results to ensure accuracy and compliance with quality requirements

• Prepare technical reports, test reports, and maintain proper documentation of lab activities

• Manage calibration, inspection, and preventive maintenance schedules for all lab equipment and instruments

• Ensure all testing equipment is properly maintained and capable of producing accurate results

• Provide technical support and assistance for site-specific testing requirements and quality-related matters

• Liaise with project teams, engineers, consultants, and other stakeholders on testing requirements and results

• Ensure compliance with lab safety procedures and maintain a clean and organised testing environment

• Perform any other duties assigned from Company from time to time
