Lab Technician

About the role

A Lab Technician at Yikon Genomics performs reproductive genetic testing in accordance with approved SOPs and the laboratory quality management system. The role encompasses core laboratory responsibilities, workflow planning and coordination, materials procurement and inventory management, and executive support tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Perform Yikon reproductive genetic testing in accordance with approved SOPs and the laboratory quality management system
• Ensure accurate sample tracking, identification, and labeling throughout the entire laboratory workflow
• Perform data analysis using proprietary analysis software and prepare draft reports in accordance with internal procedures
• Conduct quality control and quality assurance checks during all phases of laboratory testing to ensure accuracy, consistency, and data integrity
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment; monitor inventory of reagents, consumables and laboratory supplies
• Lead daily and weekly laboratory workflow planning, including assignment of samples, test items, and experimental timelines
• Control and monitor turnaround time (TAT) by optimizing experiment scheduling, personnel allocation, and instrument utilization
• Plan, manage, and execute procurement of laboratory reagents, consumables, and materials to support uninterrupted laboratory operations
• Monitor inventory levels, usage trends, and expiry dates to ensure adequate stock availability and minimize waste or shortages
• Provide technical support to local customers when necessary

About you

• Bachelor's degree or above in Biology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, or a related field

• Medical Technologist License is required

• Minimum of 2 years hands-on experience in a molecular or clinical laboratory (NGS experience is an advantage). Familiarity with molecular techniques such as PCR, nucleic acid extraction, and sequencing workflows. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols accurately. Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and equipment handling

• Proficient in both Filipino and English; additional language skills are a plus
