• Collect, receive, label, and prepare patient or laboratory samples such as blood, urine, and other specimens.
• Perform routine laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures according to established protocols.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Prepare reagents, solutions, and laboratory materials as required.
• Accurately record, verify, and report test results.
• Maintain proper documentation, laboratory registers, and patient records.
• Follow quality-control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable results.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of the laboratory.
• Follow laboratory safety, infection-control, and biomedical-waste disposal procedures.
• Identify and report equipment malfunctions, abnormal results, or sample-related issues.
• Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals when required.
• Maintain adequate stock of reagents, consumables, and other laboratory supplies.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT/BMLT) or a relevant laboratory science field.
• Relevant registration or certification, where applicable.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures, sample handling, and safety protocols.
• Previous experience in a hospital, diagnostic center, or clinical laboratory is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Knowledge of laboratory testing procedures
• Good sample-handling and documentation skills
• Ability to operate laboratory equipment
• Understanding of infection control and laboratory safety
• Good communication and teamwork
• Ability to work under pressure and meet reporting timelines
